Roland Chawey, 39, has been discovered dead in a well at Asokore, a neighborhood of New Juaben North municipality in the Eastern region.
The deceased is thought to have committed suicide by plunging into the well early on August 28, 2023.
Isaac Osei, an assemblyman from the Fofie Electoral Area, reported hearing from some locals that they discovered clothing and sandals belonging to an unidentified individual next to the well and believed he had drowned.
He claimed that after checking the information, he called the Police, Fire Service, and NADMO in a desperate attempt to save the victim, but the victim was tragically found dead.
His body has been placed in the St. Joseph Hospital mortuary.
According to sources, the late Chawey Roland who was a well-known drug user, recently became ill and was admitted to St. Joseph Hospital, but he escaped.
