Court proceedings on Major Mahama’s murder sends shock to attendees

The ongoing investigation of the gruesome murder of the late Major Maxwell Mahama has still got a chilling effect on the attendants of the court proceedings.
The incidence of the murder which took place on the early hours of May, 29 2017 is still undergoing series of trials to bring all perpetrators and accused to book. During a recent trial on Monday, April 12 2021, the video detailing the murder of the Major was played at the High Court as substantive evidence to level against the 14 accused person standing trial having Justice Mariama Owusu, a justice at the Supreme Court sitting as a High Court judge.
In the progress of playing the video one of the Lawyers mentioned Jesus! As some of the accused quietly watched the disturbing videos with their hands on their chin. In the video the residents of Denkyira Obuasi made utterances such as “Kill him, burn him!” as they threw bricks and logs at him.
Major Mahama was lynched by an angry mob in Denkyira Obuasi in the Central Region while taking a walk. In all, 14 persons have been accused including the former Assembly Member of Denkyira Obuasi, William Baah of which they have all pleaded not guilty to charges ranging from murder, abetment to murder and conspiracy to commit murder.
