To be able to deliver the 2022-2025 District Medium Term Development Plan and submit the final draft within the stipulated deadline thus Monday 31st May 2021, the Technical Support Team for the preparation of the draft District Medium Term Development On Wednesday 28th April 2021 as per the schedule engaged several communities namely: Wegbe Kpalime, Kaira Kpalime,Toh Kpalime and Kpalime Duga.
Making the number of electoral areas that had been engaged so far six out of twenty-one. According to the District Planning Officer, despite the financial constraint, engaging citizens based on electoral area gives room for thorough discussion and transparent assessment that will reflect the true needs of the people rather than engagement based on Area Councils.
The exercise on Wednesday 28 April commenced at 7:30 am and spanned till 5:30 pm. The engagement today was extraordinary as an evaluation conducted suggested and informed a decision to educate the citizens on the need to extend their needs beyond only physical infrastructure but also key development issues such as how to take care of the aged thus Livelihood Empowerment Against Poverty, Agriculture Mechanization, School Feeding and many other development concerns that they deemed necessary.
In addition, the District planning Officer educated the citizens on a policy that bans local authorities to build or construct public toilets except for institutional ones. The District Director of Health also educated the citizens to ignore all conspiracy theories and naysayers and avail themselves for vaccination as soon as the next badge of vaccines as announced by the Ghana Health Service expected to be about 350,000 doses arrive in Ghana in the coming week
