Why I left NPP and endorsed John Mahama – Nyaho Tamakloe
Dr. Nyaho Nyaho Tamakloe, a former New Patriotic Party member, has endorsed John Mahama of the NDC while disclosing for the first time why he left the party.
Dr. Nyaho Tamakloe said that his nephew John Dramani Mahama was the reason he had to leave his party during a news conference on apparent corruption among public officials that he co-hosted with Brigadier General (Rtd) Joseph Nunoo-Mensah.
“My sister Joyce Tamakloe married E.A Mahama, so John and Ibrahim are my nephews,” he indicated.
He continued; “Being a founding member of NPP doesn’t mean I shouldn’t support my family members. Like the Akans say, adzi pa wo fie a oye. I was a member of NPP until Mahama came in the scene” Dr. Tamakloe stated, revealing the reason behind his betrayal of the party he claims to have been a founding member of.

Dr. Tamakloe gave candidate Akufo-Addo harsh criticism prior to the 2016 elections, claiming that Ghanaians were content with John Mahama and that he would never become president.
In the 2016 election campaign, he gave media interviews to a number of publications that attacked the NPP and its candidate.
President Akufo-Addo received a landslide vote from Ghanaians, which hasn’t pleased Dr. Nyaho Tamakloe, who wants John Mahama to take office again for personal reasons.
Many people found Dr. Nyaho Tamakloe’s devious behavior startling, and for the first time, he has provided explanations.
