University School Fees Increment: Tertiary Students Protest Against School Fees Increment; Call For Fees Reduction As Standard Of Living Is High

A group of tertiary students is calling for reduction in their school fees. The students complained that standard of living in the country is high and parents are struggling to raise funds for their school fees. This was after an alleged plan of universities in Ghana to increase school fees not more than 40% and the said schedule was before parliament for approval.

The aggrieved students have taken to social media to protest against the alleged fees increment and call on government to rather decrease school fees . The students believe that this will be a great relief to their parents and also relieve them of emotional stress.

In recent times , landlords of private hostels charge exorbitant fees for hostels. From our survey hostel prices in some of the public university ranges from 2500 – 10,000. In which most of these hostel has seen exponential increment in hostel fees about 30% for the 2022/2023 academic year.
