Wendy Shay Tops Boomplay Charts As 2022 Most Streamed Female Artiste

Wendy Shay, a Rufftown Records signee musician, was the only female Ghanaian artist featuring on Boomplay’s Top 10 out of their weekly Top 100 songs.

Black Sheirf’s “Kwaku The Traveller,” which ranked tenth on the charts, was immediately overtaken by Wendy Shay’s “Survivor.”

It is not surprising that Wendy Shay will conclude 2022 as the female musician with the most streams given the accomplishment she had at the halfway point of the year.She surpasses competitors like Gyakie and Diana Hamilton, who were second and third, respectively.

Wendy Shay’s ‘Survivor’, which is a self-affirming story of how to pick up pieces shattered after a major heartbreak is one of the songs that greatly helped her to achieve this feat.

Also, the release of her ‘Enigma EP’, which has the viral ‘Habibi’ song has gone a long way to help the award-winning singer to go home with bragging rights as one of the artists who has gone her songs streamed a lot in 2022.

“Criticisms made me stronger, I don’t know but the criticisms I received from people have made me a successful musician,” she said.

In an interview with Tony Best on Kwantenpon Drive, on Friday, October 15, Wendy Shay stated clearly that the criticisms she received from people have had a major influence in her music career and have also played a major role in her rise to the top.
