MIDWIFE URGES PREGNANT WOMEN TO AVOID SELF MEDICATION AND CERTAIN FOODS

-

A midwife has appeared on Nyamekye Radio news to urge pregnant women to avoid the intake of alcohol and other self-medicated drugs.

Madam Josephine Ama Dansowaa, the Founder and CEO of Ama Dansowaa Maternity Clinic at Dadieso in the Suaman District of Western North Region, who has more than 20 years’ experience as a midwife said pregnant women should contact their midwives and do not be reluctant to go to hospital to be assessed.

She said that, while some activities had been changed due to the climate change, especially concerning food items with chemicals, she is therefore urging pregnant women to be medically checked.

She stated; “We’ve had to make some changes in line with conviction to midwifery guidance”.

She added that antenatal care is still being provided, therefore advising pregnant women to avoid the intake of alcohol, inhaling of smokes and enema.
