GES Direacts Heads Of Schools To Appoint Deans Of Discipline As A Result Of Spate Of Disciplinary Issues In Various Institutions

Ghana Education service has directed all schools to appoint deans of discipline this according to communique released by the Director General has become necessary as a result of a recent spate of disciplinary issues in various institutions. The communique which was issued to all regional directors directed them to inform heads of various schools to appoint dean of discipline through election.
The communique further directed the heads to submit the list of all appointed deans to the Director General by Friday 9th June, 2023 through the secretariat email.

The communique further stated the roles of the deans of discipline and the qualified teachers who are allowed to be appointed.

Ghana for some years now has abolished the corporal punishment system in various schools. This according to many people has resulted in indiscipline in the various schools as students no longer pay heed to rules and regulations of schools and some student even show gross disrespect to teachers
