President Akufo-Addo has named Lawyer Sambian Sully as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Northern Development Authority. Sully, who is a lawyer by profession, has been chosen among several candidates to head the authority, which is responsible for implementing the government’s development agenda in the northern regions of Ghana.
Prior to his appointment, Sully worked as the acting CEO of the authority and also served as the Deputy Director of Legal Affairs at the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC). He has extensive experience in corporate law, commercial law, and energy law, having worked in various legal capacities for over two decades.
Sully’s appointment has received widespread praise from stakeholders in the northern regions of Ghana. They believe that his wealth of experience in legal affairs and corporate governance will be instrumental in driving the development agenda of the government in the north.
In his new role, Sully is expected to lead the Northern Development Authority and oversee the implementation of projects aimed at improving the living conditions of people in the northern regions of Ghana. The authority is responsible for the promotion of sustainable economic development, social development, and infrastructure development in the Northern, Upper East, and Upper West Regions.
President Akufo-Addo expressed confidence in Sully’s ability to deliver on his mandate and urged him and his team to work collaboratively with stakeholders to achieve the objectives of the authority. Sully is expected to assume office soon and begin work on the development agenda of the authority.
