According to reports, Lionel Messi‘s picture may be on Argentina’s 1000 peso banknote.

El Financiero, an Argentine publication, reportedly told Daily Mail on Thursday that the Central Bank of the Republic of Argentina has been brainstorming ideas for a celebration of the national team’s historic victory in Qatar since before the victory against France on Sunday.

Argentina defeated France under Messi’s direction to capture the 2022 FIFA World Cup for the first time since 1986.
