Senior Psychologist, Professor Joseph Osafo has admonished Easter celebrants to strictly adhere to the covid 19 protocols issued by the President to prevent it from further escalating.
Easter celebrations are one of those festivities Ghanaians especially indigenes from Kwahu in the Eastern part of Ghana laud the most. The annual festivity of Easter happens to settle on one of Kwahu’s biggest festival marking a new year in their calendar. This special occasion draws people from all walks of life into the Kwahu hills to celebrate within the three holiday break.
People normally hail the slogan “Kwahu oo Kwahu” as an indication that the festivity is drawing nigh. This has been an annual routine upheld for years until the surface of the deadly covid 19 in the country.
The festival has, since 2020 seen a drastic decrement of tourists and its indigenes inhabiting the outskirts of the Region as most of its inhabitants petitioned for the cancellation of the annual festivity in 2020 for fear of the disease escalating in their Region.
For fear of having such vibe in this year’s Easter celebration, Professor Osafo during an interview on Peace FM’s morning petitioned all to conform to the safety protocols as some people are planning to celebrate the festivity in grand style.
“Celebrate in a manner that will not lead to destruction… there must be serious caution he said stressing “there is a danger lurking somewhere waiting to devour, so be careful not to celebrate Easter and contract disease resulting to death”.
