Black Sherif Sustains Injury In On-Stage Scuffle At University of Ghana Concert

Black Sherif

Ghanaian music sensation, Black Sherif, experienced a minor injury during a live performance at the Diaspora Dome, University of Ghana, on Friday, June 14, 2025. The incident unfolded as Black Sherif was captivating a packed audience with one of his popular hit songs.

A now-viral video circulating on social media captures an overexcited fan, identified as Agbovi, breaching security and rushing onto the stage. Despite the immediate intervention of security personnel, Black Sherif, in a moment of perhaps misguided generosity, allowed the fan to dance on stage for a short period.

However, the situation quickly escalated. As security attempted to escort Agbovi off the stage, the fan managed to grab onto Black Sherif, causing the artiste to lose his balance and narrowly avoid falling into the crowd. Following the brief struggle, security successfully restrained and removed Agbovi from the stage.

Visibly shaken by the encounter, Black Sherif later informed the enthusiastic crowd that he had been struck in the mouth during the scuffle, resulting in a cut on his lip. “Hey, Agbovi cut my lip,” Black Sherif could be heard saying, addressing the incident directly to his fans.

Despite the unexpected interruption and minor injury, Black Sherif, ever the professional, resumed his performance shortly after, much to the immense delight and relief of his dedicated fanbase. The remainder of the show proceeded without any further incidents, allowing the musical energy to flow freely.

Adding to the excitement of the evening, award-winning rapper Sarkodie also joined Black Sherif on stage for an energetic joint performance, ensuring the concert concluded on a high note, despite the earlier brief moment of chaos. The incident serves as a reminder of the challenges performers sometimes face with overzealous fans, even as they strive to connect with their audience.
