Patriotic Youth Alliance Applauds NPP’s Amnesty for Suspended Members

The Patriotic Youth Alliance (PYA) has commended the National Executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for granting a general amnesty to all suspended members and those with pending disciplinary cases, following the National Council’s Emergency Meeting on Friday, 25th July 2025.

In a statement, the PYA described the decision, communicated by Ag. National Chairman Mr. Danquah Smith Buttey, as a bold and visionary move that demonstrates the party’s commitment to unity, reconciliation, and solidarity. By lifting suspensions and discontinuing ongoing disciplinary proceedings, the NPP has sent a strong signal that its strength lies in togetherness rather than division.

The PYA highlighted that this magnanimous step is expected to heal internal rifts, reinvigorate the party base, and strengthen cohesion ahead of the upcoming political challenges. While discipline remains a core principle of the party, reconciliation is equally essential for sustainable growth and electoral success.

The youth wing further praised the NPP’s directive against arbitrary suspensions, emphasizing that all disciplinary actions must follow due process and constitutional procedures. Such measures, they said, will safeguard members’ rights, promote fairness, and uphold the integrity of the party’s democratic traditions.

On behalf of the youth and grassroots members, the PYA pledged its unflinching support in consolidating party unity, mobilizing members, and preparing for victory in the next elections.

Saturday, 16th August, 2025

The Patriotic Youth Alliance (PYA) warmly commends the National Executives of our great Party for the bold and visionary decision to grant a General Amnesty to all suspended members and those with pending disciplinary cases, as resolved by the National Council at its Emergency Meeting on Friday, 25th July, 2025.

This landmark decision, as communicated by the Ag. National Chairman, Mr. Danquah Smith Buttey, is a true testament to the Party’s unwavering commitment to unity, reconciliation, and solidarity. By lifting all suspensions and discontinuing pending disciplinary proceedings, the National Executives have sent a strong signal that our collective strength lies in togetherness, not division.

The PYA believes that this act of magnanimity will not only heal wounds but also reinvigorate the base of our Party as we prepare for the enormous political tasks ahead. It reinforces the principle that while discipline remains a cornerstone of our tradition, reconciliation is equally essential for sustainable growth and victory.

We further commend the directive cautioning against arbitrary suspensions at all levels of the Party, insisting that due process and constitutional procedures must guide disciplinary actions. This safeguard will protect members’ rights, promote fairness, and preserve the integrity of our democratic tradition.
