Students Of Mount Mary College of education level 400 students demonstrate against authorities over extortion

According to the students , they fed themselves during their four month off campus teaching practice. The Government through the Student Loan Trust Fund has paid their feeding component to the college for onward disbursement to the students thus GHc 784.00 for each student.

The students numbering 356 said authorities suppose to refund an amount of GHc 279,104.00 to them but they said they have not received any money from government.

Fortunately according to the students, they have evidence that their colleagues from other colleges i.e Gbewaa College of Education, Bagabaga College of Education, St. Joseph College of Education, Enchi College of Education to mention but a few have received theirs but Management of Mount Mary College of Education has denied receiving such monies from the Government.

Therefore calling on all stakeholders to as an matter of urgency intervene for the monies to be refunded to them since they are completing school tomorrow and possibility of loosing that money is high.

They alleged corrupt practices going on in the school by SRC and Management of the school which needs serious investigation to save the suffering students who are already burdened.

They also complained of poor feeding despite the payment by government through the students loan Trust Fund.
