Bono Region: Person With Disability Has Showed Gratitude To A District Assembly For This Reason

The Social Welfare Department of the Tain District Assembly in the Bono region donated cash and items which included refrigerators, industrial sewing machines, fufu pounding machines, bags of rice and many others to persons with disabilities in the district.

The district chief executive (DCE) for Tain, Hon. Lucy Acheampong made emphasis on certain projects the Nana Akuffo Addo led government is embarking on for rural development which includes the items and pecuniary donated to improve upon their lives.

Received the items, the president of the disabled federation in the Tain district thanked the district assembly and President Nana Akuffo Addo and the District Chief Executive for the items.

He also tasked those receiving the items to make good use of the items and engage themselves in businesses that will give them income to increase their standard of living.

As it happened in the scriptures in the New Testament, as ‘Jesus healed the ten but only one person went back to give thanks’. However, one of the disabled, Mr. Mensah Francis who received a fufu pounding machine took the time after few days of receiving the item has gone to the district assembly, especially to the social welfare office to show his profound gratitude to the department for the grant.

The act of Mr. Francis in his speech monitored by Appiah-Kubi, he said “I just want to thank you for the generosity you have displayed by granting me the fufu pounding machine to adapt my life. Life has been difficult adjusting to my lifestyle being disabled and I hope this machine will assist me more to the opportunity I wanted to help my life. Words can’t express more of my gratitude but I hope my visit will show off my sincere gratitude”.

In response to the expression, the social welfare officer for Tain district, Mr. Afriyie Kwabena Sarpong also gave his astonished acceptance of Mr. Francis that such an amazing feedback had not been to the office before however urged to assist the PWDs on their requested items.
