Ex Prez Kufuor speaks on issue of the murder of 10-year-old boy

-

Former President John Agyekum Kufour has added his voice to the lot speaking on the recent murder of a 10 year old boy at Kasoa.
In an interview with Joy Prime, the ex-president emphasised that the media should stop projecting the works and advertisement of all these so called spiritual men who lure people especially the youth into buying into their tricks and dubious way of life.
“How could young people do this? What do they know? Unfortunately the media are giving so much exposure to tricksters and fraudulent people, promising everything. When you look at them you should know that these are people who are themselves just bad and ignorant. That is not the way for our society to go”.
The media which wields so much power has the tendency of projecting to a relatively large audience within a particular time. Additionally, messages flooding the media catch the attention of its audience easily considering how credible and reliable the media is. Sadly, some media contents are geared towards making huge profits therefore contents are not well scrutinized.
Based on this, Kuffuor further urged the media to be selective in the kind of content they put out and people that could “defraud the society”. He admonished “We need to do that, the media and of course, the authorities too should come up and tackle all these people who are now virtually hijacking the airwaves with vain promises and trickery”.
So far, the two suspects have been charged with murder and conspiracy of murder and are to reappear before the court on April 20.
