The Northern Regional Minister, Adolf John Ali, disclosed the news at the Northern Development Cause Forum in Tamale, confirming the altercation between the two schools. However, conflicting reports have emerged regarding the extent of the injuries.

According to Chief Inspector Lukman Neindow, the Northern Regional Police Public Relations Officer, initial police reports indicate that only one student from Dabokpa Technical Institute was wounded. The student was subsequently taken to the hospital for treatment. Neindow clarified that the police received reports of the violence around 2:30 a.m. on July 19 and swiftly deployed officers to the scene.

The police indicated that the riot involved students from both schools pelting stones at each other. In addition to the injuries, parts of the fence wall of Vittin Technical Senior High School were also reportedly destroyed during the confrontation. Despite the scale of the clash, Neindow assured the public that the situation was swiftly brought under control by the police.

To prevent further incidents, a 24-hour police guard has been stationed between the two neighboring schools. Authorities are also working to determine the cause of the clash, though the reasons behind the violent altercation remain unclear at this time.Best online courses

A search conducted in the dormitories of both schools uncovered several dangerous implements, including scissors and machetes, raising further concerns about the level of preparedness among the students involved.

As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the violence. However, police are currently reviewing surveillance footage of the incident to gather more information. Meanwhile, the Regional Security Council (REGSEC) is holding a meeting to discuss the matter and formulate strategies to prevent future violence between the schools.Best online courses

The clash has raised significant questions about student safety and discipline in the region’s schools, with many calling for increased measures to ensure the protection of students and staff alike.

Authorities are urging the public to remain calm as investigations continue into the incident.
