Payment of COLA and Professional Development Allowance; Good News Finally Drops For Beneficiaries -Details Drop

CAG

As part of the in service training for teachers yearly, Government pays them Professional Development Allowances (PDA) which is purposely allocated for the teachers Continuous Professional Development.

Against the thoughts of many people that the current economic crisis will not allow the Government pay the PDA for the year 2022 to Ghana Education Service (GES) staff, the government has declared its willingness to pay and has released the money to that effect.

By virtue of this, all Teaching Staff of the Ghana Education Service will take home GH¢1,200 together with their salaries and Non Teaching Staff of GES will take GH¢800 as Professional Development Allowance (PDA) at the end of November.

Again, per the negotiations the Government had with teacher unions and other labour unions some months back, there will be a Payment of 15% Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) in addition to the November 2022 Salary for Ghanaian Teachers.

This comes as a great relief to the entire GES staff as the straining effects of the economy is having ripple effects on their living.
