Ministry Of Education Adds Private Senior High School To The 2025 School Selection Process – Details

The Ministry of Education has added 25 private senior high schools (SHS) to the 2025 school selection process under the Free SHS programme.

This marks the first time private SHSs have been included in the Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS), giving candidates more options as they prepare to enter second-cycle education.

The approved schools, listed under Category E, are co-educational day institutions located across all 16 regions.

They offer a range of academic programmes including General Arts, General Science, Business, Technical, Visual Arts, Home Economics, and Agriculture.

In view of the new additions, the Ghana Education Service (GES) has extended the deadline for the school selection process to Wednesday, June 25, 2025.

In a statement signed by Mr Prince Agyemang-Duah, Director of the Schools and Instruction Division, the GES said the extension had become necessary to allow candidates more time to make informed choices.
