WESTERN NORTH REGION: SUAMAN DCE ACCOUNTS HIS ACHIEVEMENTS OF ONE YEAR IN OFFICE.

-

Hon. Philip Kwabena Boahen, the Suaman District Chief Executive (DCE), has emphatically touted and accounts to his district the achievements of the Assembly under various sectors of his leadership over a year as a DCE.

He said the Assembly, against all odds, was able to meet substantial needs of the people through multifaceted developmental projects in accordance with its one year in office.

The local government, despite the infrastructural deficit in many areas such as education and health, paid special attention to such facilities to enhance growth, he explained in an interview with Nyamekye Radio’s ‘Ghana Maakye’ show host, Patrick Oduro Duku (Patoo).

“Among the key achievements are the construction of classroom blocks and completion of education office, CHIP compounds in more than five communities, boreholes, magistrate block and a court which is 90% completed, adding that he had been able to use his common fund to abate some deficit in the assembly and completing the uncompleted projects in the district”, he addressed.

Hon. Philip Boahen added that the assembly under his watch had been able to give six communities with network projects, which he admitted all problems in the district have not been solved, therefore urging the commuters to be in conviction in the assembly for the district’s betterment.

The District Chief Executive accounted that the assembly had also provided employment opportunities for the youth through plantain nursery.

Touching on the challenges, Hon. Boahen disclosed that despite the ongoing construction of some roads with bitumen, there are some challenges with the roads linked to Dadieso, the district capital of Suaman, which are under review to work on.

He added that the assembly’s Internally Generated Fund (IGF) had been low by the absence of very sustainable inflows, the use of the common fund becoming difficult in use to reduce challenges, but appeals to the people with his dogma.

The DCE finally urged the citizenry with construction of a multi-purpose sports complex (astroturf) and a traffic light for Dadieso, whiles he said the Suaman District seeks to attract more stakeholders and investors.

He said the Suaman District is actively seeking private partnerships to upgrade its potentials, with more to come, Suaman is arguably becoming the fast growing District in the Western North Region.
