NOTORIOUS CRIMINAL GANG LEADERS ARRESTED AT ADANSI PRASO

The leaders of a notorious criminal gang have been arrested at Adansi Praso in the Adansi South District of the Ashanti Region.

The Chief of Adansi Praso who is also the Mawerehene of Adasnsi Dompoase, Nana Agyemang Pemsan II confirmed to Angel News Reporter Kwame Owusu Asante Shadrack, that suspects Papa Isaac popularly known as Chrichy and Abeku Sparkus are connected to several criminal cases and has over the years terrorized residents, creating insecurity in the area.

Suspect Crichy was apprehended at Takoradi through the sole effort of a concerned resident of Adansi Praso, Alex Donkoh but later mentioned Abeku Sparkus’ name as the supplier of weapons for their criminal activities and was arrested subsequently.

The two suspects have been handed over to the New Edubase Police command for investigation.

9 persons in connection with the atrocities in the area have been arrested so far.

The chief has called on the police to step up security in the area to protect the lives of law-abiding residents as a vast land has been set aside for the police station.

BACKGROUND

It will be recalled that Rich Fm Reporter Kwame Owusu Asante Shadrack Reported that suspected fraudsters numbering about 20 attacked chiefs and residents with offensive weapons in Adansi Praso in the Adansi South District of the Ashanti Region.

The attack followed a confrontation between some young men in Adansi Praso suspected to be fraudsters in the area and chiefs, over the establishment of a watchdog committee to patrol Adansi Praso to clamp down n unscrupulous activities in the area.

Chiefs and elders were chased into the bush whilst market women were raped. They could not go about their activities because they fear they may be attacked” the chief disclosed.

Nana Okofo Tabi, the Kyidomhene of the town stated that “the saddest aspect is that three and five acres of rice and cocoa farm respectively which belong to one of the volunteers have been weeded out by the attackers”.

The Adontenehene of the area, Nana Otuo Acheampong described the situation as outrageous and called for the establishment of a police station in the town to curtail the criminal activities in the area.
