A recent survey conducted by Global Info Analytics has positioned former Vice President and 2024 New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential candidate Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as the leading contender to represent the party in the 2028 general elections.

The poll, released on August 21, 2025, indicates that Dr. Bawumia enjoys robust support among NPP delegates ahead of the party’s upcoming presidential primaries.

According to the survey, Dr. Bawumia commands 52% backing from party delegates, establishing a considerable lead over his nearest rival.

Former Assin Central Member of Parliament Kennedy Agyapong holds 17% support, significantly trailing Dr. Bawumia’s lead.

Dr. Bryan Acheampong registered 3%, while Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum secured 1%. Meanwhile, former General Secretary Kwabena Agyapong, Boakye Agyarko, and Addai Nimo each garnered less than 1% support. These aspirants in the race attracted much lower support levels.

However, the poll also revealed that 10% of delegates remain undecided about their preferred candidate, and 9% chose not to disclose their voting intention.

This comprehensive survey involved 2,656 NPP delegates, with 2,560 completing full responses. Data collection took place between August 12 and 20, 2025, spanning 263 out of the party’s 276 constituencies nationwide. The research employed computer-assisted telephone interviews (CATI) to ensure accuracy.
